Job Description – Part Time Educational Consultant
Read Write Learning Center is seeking a part time Educational Consultant who is passionate about empowering struggling readers and educating parents about how to best help their children. The Educational Consultant will encourage new students and families to enroll in our program through parent consultations and testing students. The Educational Consultant must have a high level of technical expertise related to evaluation of learning and learning disabilities. Individuals who are certified and experienced as a reading specialist, speech language pathologist (SLPs), psychometrist, psychologist, licensed counselor, or similar evaluation professional would be a good fit for this position.
Job Duties:
Consult with parents about their child’s learning issues, educate parents, and make recommendations.
Complete educational evaluations of students’ reading, writing, and spelling skills and communicate results through written report for parents and other professionals.
Persuasively communicate best Read Write services for students and on board new students into our program.
Work with branch staff to ensure a smooth and successful start for new students.
Educate community about our mission and services.
Work Hours:
Applicant must be willing and available to work up to 20 hours per week in person at our Montgomery, AL office. Schedule is flexible and can be customized to fit the candidate’s preferences (i.e. Monday-Thursday 9-1 pm OR Monday-Friday 3-7 pm).
Compensation: $30-$50/hour
